BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH - Dr. Michael G. Waldon received his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Waldon retired from the Louisiana university systems after working a total of 20 years at LSU in Baton Rouge and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His research has focused on water quality modeling and monitoring in streams, lakes, and wetlands, with a particular emphasis on TMDL and waste load allocation determinations in Louisiana, and on modeling spills in the Mississippi River and other Louisiana water bodies. Following retirement, Dr. Waldon worked for one year as Director of Water Services for WPI, a Virginia Tech affiliated corporation. He also served as an adjunct professor with the Virginia Tech Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

 

Currently, Dr. Waldon is an employee of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, serving as senior hydrologist on the US Department of Interior’s Everglades Program Team (EPT). The EPT is a DOI team of senior scientists providing increased scientific and technical capacity to assess potential impacts of south Florida restoration efforts on the Everglades.
